Located within the Norton Commerce Center industrial park is the new home to NOAA agencies, The River Forecast Center (RFC) and the Weather Forecast Center (WFC). The exterior of this facility was constructed with brick veneer, expansive glass windows, and horizontal architectural metal panels. The modern interior design includes private offices on the perimeter with a command area for RFC and WFC operations. The floor plan includes a conference room, break room, training room, printer/copier area, and storage area. Additionally, there is a center core restroom with a private wellness room. The computer room houses the main data interchange equipment and required Liebert cooling units. The building also features VAV heating with a separate backup system for redundancy. In the event of a power outage or inclement weather, the entire building is also backed-up with a gas generator. The firm carried out construction services under a Federal GSA Contract.
